Since 2008, Clover Park High School students and staff have created an annual event called the Arlington Project honoring the fallen in America’s wars from the Revolutionary War to today.
The display features individually named markers for the nearly 7,000 fallen from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. These markers are installed by students over a four-day period and create a striking display that truly captures the meaning of Memorial Day.
My reaction was immediate and visceral. The Arlington Project is poignant and patriotic ~ and it moved me to tears. The students and faculty at Clover Park High School deserve much gratitude for honoring our men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice for us. Just one more reason why I love Lakewood. ~Linda Smith
