Wow! We have two dynamic speakers this month! They are both excited to impart great information between our military and civilian communities through partnerships … it’s an opportunity you should be taking full advantage of!
Maria Tobin, the new Program Manager of the South Sound Military Partnership where she will continue championing the partnership’s mission to address critical regional challenges that impact both military and civilian populations. Tobin will lead the facilitation of strategic collaboration between military leaders, local governments, tribal nations, nonprofits, and regional stakeholders to tackle shared priorities such as economic development, childcare, education, housing, healthcare, social services, and transportation.
Tobin’s work ensures that policy recommendations to local, state, and federal partners are informed, actionable, and aligned with the lived experience of those in the region. Her practical, solutions-oriented approach continues to shape SSMCP into a national model for military-community partnership.
COL Joseph M. Vanoni is the Commander of the 446th Airlift Wing, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. He and his team ensure the readiness of approximately 1,600 Traditional Reservists, Air Reserve Technicians and Civilians to execute and support worldwide airlift, airdrop and aeromedical evacuation operations. Vanoni is especially interested in partnering with the local civilian community and business leaders.
