Wild Waves Theme & Water Park

Wild Waves Theme & Water Park is Washington State’s largest combination amusement and water park. Located in Federal Way, Washington, the park has been a summer destination for families throughout the Pacific Northwest since opening in 1977. Visitors can enjoy a mix of thrill rides, family attractions, children’s rides, water slides, wave pools, and seasonal events throughout the operating season.

The park is conveniently located just off Interstate 5 at Exit 142B, approximately 30 minutes south of Seattle and easily accessible from Tacoma and surrounding communities.

A Longstanding Pacific Northwest Tradition

Originally opening in 1977, Wild Waves has welcomed millions of visitors over nearly five decades. The park has become a familiar destination for family vacations, school field trips, company outings, and summer traditions throughout Washington State and the Pacific Northwest.

Final Operating Season

In December 2025, Wild Waves announced that the 2026 season would be its final year of operation. According to park ownership, rising operating costs and financial losses following the COVID-19 pandemic made continued operation unsustainable. The park plans to remain open through November 1, 2026, concluding nearly 50 years of operation in Federal Way.
